3. IN FAIRNESS TO ALL, WAIT UNTIL THE APPLICABLE REGISTRATION WINDOW IS OPEN. You may want to consider scheduling the send of your email. Send me a single email at julie.k.brandt@gmail.com with "Swim lesson reservation request" in the subject line. Be sure to include all of the following information in that email (returning students need only include info that needs to be updated). Early, incomplete, or piecemeal requests can not be processed.
- your full name
- student's full name
- student's date of birth
- your first three choices of sessions (use the session name) and time slots for each student. There is no choice of days; unless otherwise stated, lessons are held every Monday through Friday of the session, for a total of fifteen 30-minute lessons.
- student's lesson experience, a brief summary of their current abilities, and what you/they are looking to achieve (returning students need only update me on what you've been doing in the water since your last session).

What's going on with the closure of Homestead Aquatic Center?
On October 10, 2024, Homestead informed me that they would be closing on October 21, 2024 for HVAC repairs, and would reopen mid-November. However, on October 15, 2024, they told me that they'd actually be closed through early March 2025. Then on October 17, they said they might reopen in December 2024. As of March 5, 2025, the Town of Chapel Hill is not answering my questions about the progress on the repairs, saying only that they may open "sometime between 3/17 and 3/31".
Given the abrupt and erratic way this has been handled, it's been impossible for me to arrange to use another pool. Few pools offer appropriate facilities, have space, or welcome private instructors. Establishing a lease agreement is an involved process that takes time. Additionally, my insurance coverage is specific to the pool.
Not being able to teach is very sad for me, and it pains me that there are so many people waiting for lessons. I appreciate everyone's patience and understanding as we navigate this situation.
